Luigi Morelli – Restoring Cycles of Water: Holistic Approach to Climate Change. 19 November 2025
Unlike weather prognostication which is short-term – up to 10 days with modern technology, climate is an extremely complex and dynamic system comprising a number of processes resulting in climatic variability: two of the more important influences on the climate are the Sun and its planetary cycles, and water — rivers and oceans. Water vapour, at 72% of the atmosphere, is the largest greenhouse gas affecting both weather and climate, resulting in much larger effects on climate than CO2 (0.04% of the atmosphere), Morelli states.
Examining Viktor Schauberger’s research leading to revolutionary understanding of climate alterations, Luigi Morelli highlighted three interrelated aspects: the ecology of rivers and forests and the global cycle of water. Morelli considers the cycle of water to be “far more important than the cycle of CO 2 in regulating or mediating impacts of human or solar activity on climate.” “Our understanding of climate comes from “placing water, not CO 2 , at the centre of . . . factors impacting global climate over the short or long term.”
Solar cycles also influence the climate with 11-year cycles of maximum and minimum. The shortest Sun cycle being “the Sunspot cycle” and solar eruptions or Corona Mass Ejections (CMEs), that cause an increase of thunderstorm activity by up to 60%,“ showing “clear and protracted” relationships between . . . solar activity and climate.”
Morelli describes the “harmonic models” climate’s “evolution over centuries and millennia” and why it is important that understanding climate change requires a grasp of the “range of complexity and real impact that the solar system has had for millennia and continues to have on climate, which altogether eclipses the anthropogenic element.” He gave us many reasons to study these cycles and periodicities of the sun and water, and their combined impacts on climate change, and reduce our attention on CO 2 .
