Malcolm Parlett – Dimensions of Whole Intelligence. 06 September 2023

The key question is how we can develop a new psycho-spiritual intelligence, enabling us to work together for the planet. The whole intelligence movement started with all strengths and capacities and massive skills from all genders, ethnic groups and countries working together irrespective of starting point. Malcolm has extremely wide experience of all aspects of the field of how individuals process life.

Malcolm reviewed the five necessary dimensions necessary for us to work together with “whole intelligence”. Starting with Interrelating, essentially the necessary attributes of how we build connectivity, to collaborate successfully and each have the capacity to both give and receive love. Looking then at Embodying, possibly the toughest attribute, he explained how this is largely respecting bodily life and embracing all of our physical existence as organisms of the biosphere. This is essentially celebrating the joy of being alive. Responding to the situation is essentially preserving wholeness, complexity and singularity of the moment at all times and how we all direct our attention. The next attribute, Self-recognising, is self-reflection and becoming more mindful to generate insight and how our patterns are triggered. Finally, Malcolm looked at Experimenting, living in the present, continuously improvising, imagining and choosing together. These attributes are all inter-related leading to the same place.

All this focussed on our main objective, to enhance a shift for humanity into shared global human values. Humans are all inter-connected with examples throughout history of global trends towards a shared view.
