Paul Kieniewicz – The Cosmic View: The Mystical Teachings of Andrew Glazewski. 20 September 2023
Andrew Glazewski—“Glass o’ whisky”!—gave a talk at Paul’s school, breaking through tedious routines like a breath of fresh air. Andrew, the Catholic priest at Newton Abbot, was a physicist, musician, practitioner of distance healing, and frequent lecturer at Attingham with Sir George Trevelyan. Every summer, he ran youth camps on the Scilly Isles, where Paul spent several weeks before heading for America.
In 1973, Andrew Glazewski, George Blaker and Patrick Shackleton discussed the notion of a spiritual university, a secret space where scientists and doctors could discuss non-mainstream ideas without losing their jobs that would become the Scientific and Medical Network, now celebrating its fiftieth anniversary in 2023.
After Andrew’s death, his unique contributions were forgotten until Paul began gathering memories, texts and tapes, containing spiritual exercises to help us understand ourselves and unlock our full potential in this life. Whereas hierarchies of angels are assigned to specific levels, human beings can rise. These insights and exercises form the basis of Paul’s books, Harmony of the Universe and The Cosmic View.
Paul’s fascinating talk gives the participant much on which to ponder. He shares Andrew’s diagram of the psyche with ego at the centre, subjective unconscious (“George”) in the lower triangle, and uncorrupted self in the upper triangle. Andrew approached prayer through listening, accessed the higher self through obedience, and valued the observer’s perspective. A mandala from The Secret of the Golden Flower shows the trajectory from emotions on the outside to sacred geometry at the heart.
