Sandi Rufo – Mary Magdalene and the Transformation of Consciousness
What might we recover about our own capacity for transformation if we took Mary Magdalene’s spiritual authority seriously – and what might humanity have become if women had been fully recognized as bearers and teachers of sacred wisdom?
In Mary Magdalene and the Transformation of Consciousness, Sandi LaTourette-Rufo brings her personal journey into conversation with early Christian scholarship to explore the Gospel of Mary as a possible map of spiritual transformation.
Drawing connections with the Gospels of John, Philip, and Thomas, the Gospel of the Beloved Companion, and recent scholarship on the fragment P. Oxy. 5577, she examines the soul’s encounter with the powers, the dispute over Mary’s authority, and the consequences of marginalizing women’s spiritual knowledge.
Distinguishing textual evidence from historical hypotheses and her own interpretation, Sandi considers how these teachings might illuminate inherited conditioning, inner knowing, and the practical work of awakening and embodiment today.
