Alison Wakelin, 22 October 2021: Virtual Members Bar

This Friday, October 22nd at 6.30-8.00 pm (UK, BST), Alison Wakelin will take us on a cosmic journey. Alison is a Senior Lecturer in Physics and Astronomy at Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania.

Astronomers have good reason to believe there must be several times more gravitating material present in the universe than can be observed with any known techniques. We will look at what motivates the proposal for the existence of a multiverse, and ask if parallel universes could provide a clue to the dark matter mystery, as some theories suggest.

Could such a parallel universe be the "spirit world" posited by some of our more internal traditions?
