Dr Filippo Dal Fiore – Science with a Heart: My Vision for a Paradigm Shift in the Social Sciences and Higher Education
What does it take to create a more benevolent science?
Filippo says: “The reductionist-materialist paradigm that affects all sciences appears very effective in “mastering” nature and society, but seems to empty life of its wholeness, meaning and magic.
Within and beyond academia, the resulting existential void is often filled by a strong attachment to disciplines, that is to the beauty of their simplistic perspectives and the power of the ideologies upon which they are grounded.
Science with a Heart is my vision to reconnect our scientific epistemology to the wholeness of being, that is the ever-present reality of Love that lies at the essence of our manifested world and universe. By ontologically distinguishing two levels of reality – the superficial vs. the fundamental – it is in my view possible to pave the way for a new paradigm that can help us reconcile our scientific adventure to the good universal common sense which defines our humanity.”

Filippo Dal FioreSenior consultant
Dr Filippo Dal Fiore has always been driven by love for life and for our common humanity, despite all tribulations. He does his best every day to honour this by cultivating the deepest desires of his heart, including pursuing his vocation to reconcile science to Love (what happens if we say God?). Over the years he has been working behind the scenes on his own personal and spiritual development, all the while vigorously contributing to family life as well as serving students and organizations (as an adjunct professor at the University of Bologna and a senior consultant at the Great Place To Work Institute). His social scientific background is multi-disciplinary and international: he holds university degrees in Communication Science and Applied Economics, with significant research experience accrued in the USA, The Netherlands and Italy.
