Dr Fred Travis – Science Shakes Hands with Spirituality 1

Dr Fred Travis – Science Shakes Hands with Spirituality

Is there any research supporting growth of higher states of consciousness?

In this talk, Fred will bring out how science and spirituality enrich each other when they are respectfully considered. He will ask how science can measure an experience that is described as being unbounded, non-moving, outside of time and space. He will contend that spiritual experiences are lived and embodied experiences, so they change the very breath. He will present a model of brain and consciousness from the Vedic tradition and bring out how different meditation traditions explore that model. He will finish with a scientific exploration of deep meditation experiences.
