Dante and Otherworld Journeys event preview

Consciousness of other worlds that are also here is a central theme in wisdom traditions. They are present in cosmic visions of the future, too, which can be awoken so as to orientate shared lives, as well as more individual practices, such as dying before you die.

This year, 2021, marks the 700th anniversary of the death of Dante, whose masterpiece, The Divine Comedy, conveys one of the great journeys in such domains, culminating in his direct awareness of the reality that is the source of all light and life.

This invitation and calling is also present in the writings of figures such as Emanuel Swedenborg and William Blake, as well as the exploration of contemporary experiences, notably NDEs and angelic visions.

Together, they have a direct bearing upon how we cultivate the imagination and intuition, and how we think of ourselves as human beings.

On this day, we will explore this rich tradition and ask how it can inform our sense of living, as well as challenge mechanical and material conceptions of life. We will seek to encounter and rekindle the spiritual intelligence of the ages, as well as inform our capacity for transcendent awareness.

Otherworld journeys are constantly reinventing themselves, as would be expected as human consciousness evolves, and in so doing, they remake the possibility of knowing the ever-present origin and ground of our being.

Lorna Byrne is a world-renowned Spiritual Teacher, international Bestselling Author and Philanthropist. She is the author of seven bestselling books and has been published in more than 30 countries and 50 languages around the world. She is also the founder of the Lorna Byrne Children’s Foundation, helping vulnerable and marginalised children across the globe. In 2019, she was named as one of the 100 Most Spiritually Influential Living People in the world.

He is the author, with his wife Elizabeth, of many books on consciousness and death, most recently The Art of Dying. His autobiography, Shining Light on Transcendence, was published last year.

Mariel Forde Clarke qualified as a Serologist in Veterinary Science many years ago assuming this was her career for life. Since her own Near-Death Experience in 1992, Mariel has dedicated her life to exploring the mystery of life and death. She has studied many cultures where the Afterlife is considered our true home. She is humbled to be a Divine channel doing Divine work under the guidance and wisdoms of the Angels and Ascended Masters. Mariel feels blessed exploring the subject of life after death, while navigating the mysterious and the mystical of the afterlife with the knowledge of a wise old soul and the wisdom of shaman. She is author of Where After: Where Do Our Loved Ones Go After They Die?

Mariel writes: “From the various research gleaned, I now understand that a belief in an afterlife determines and impacts on how one grieves.
