Gregory Shushan – Near-Death Experience in Ancient Civilisations
Did near-death experiences influence afterlife beliefs in ancient civilisations?
Award-winning author Gregory Shushan, PhD, reveals the powerful influence of near-death experiences (NDEs) on religious beliefs and ritual practices in ancient civilisations. Focusing on Egypt, Mesopotamia, India, China, and Mesoamerica, he shows how there is a series of similarities between their afterlife beliefs too consistent and specific to be mere coincidence. He explores how this discovery can be understood in terms of NDEs, and the interactions with shamanism and social-historical factors. Drawing on anthropology, psychology, and philosophy, Shushan will look at how afterlife beliefs developed over time, while also exploring the metaphysical parapsychological implications of his discoveries.
