About Me |
Falk Parra-Witte is an ecological anthropologist who obtained his PhD from the University of Cambridge. He combines research with public outreach and community engagement to revise the ontological and epistemological foundations of human relations to nature and what it means to be “sustainable”. He is developing a conceptual and practical framework based on holism and realism to build bridges of dialogue and collaboration between different forms of knowledge, sectors and disciplines around ecology as a cosmological matter. In particular, Falk foments knowledge exchange between indigenous people and the natural and social sciences. His focus has been the Kogi People of Colombia, with whom he has a longstanding relationship. Falk has been applying this approach through projects, roles and networks that foment culture-based environmental management, policy and education.
