| About Me | Jeroen Carelse (b. 1969, Netherlands) is a painter, consciousness researcher, and educator based in Finland. He studied Industrial Design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and Design Leadership in Helsinki. After a career spanning design consultancy, UX/service design, software entrepreneurship, and teaching across Nordic and Baltic universities (since 1985), he returned fully to art in 2017. His current work centers on two interconnected areas: consciousness research and painting. His book, The Consciousness Cookbook: Authenticity in a Simulated Reality, presents a framework of reality as a consciousness-driven simulation in which souls navigate between love and fear towards authenticity. His painting practice, in acrylic, encaustic, and oil, serves as a parallel mode of investigation into these ideas. He has taught creativity, imagination, consciousness, and related physics at institutions including Aalto University, University of Jyväskylä, Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences, Tallinn University, and VTT Technical Research Center of Finland. His teaching emphasizes practical application of consciousness, creativity, and authenticity in personal and professional life. Feel invited to connect.
