About Me | I was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1959, and began teaching secondary science and biology in 1981. Qualified as a teacher-librarian in 2013 and retired in 2022. I originally joined the SMN in 1999, and connected with Chris Clarke and David Lorimer, who were wonderful sounding boards for what was a tumultuous time in my life. I attended a few SMN conferences in the early 2000’s, one at which I presented, although in hind site, not very well. However, I cancelled my membership around 2005 largely due to the remoteness of my situation. At that time, I was still formulating my ideas; ideas which seem to have come to fruition in the past couple of weeks. In 1996, at the age of 37, I experienced a religious/mystical experience and was immediately converted from an agnostic to a believer in God. Between 1996 and 2000, I received a number of communications which inspired me to study cosmology and consciousness so that I could integrate it with the mystical experience. As a result, Chris Clarke invited me to write a chapter in his book, Ways of Knowing: Science and Mysticism Today’ published in 2005. Since then all has been quiet on the science and mystical front, until just recently. This new activity has resulted in the Letters 1 – 16 which I have uploaded onto the website with possibly more to come. They attempt to harmonise the latest in cosmology, consciousness, and aspects of my mystical experience that can be explained in these terms. The most notable of these being that time is a measurement of information; a realisation that changes everything. Lyn Andrews |
