Emiliano Toso – Biology is Music: understanding the beauty of our cells as a symphony of life. 29 March 2023

This was a truly beautiful and touching webinar! Emiliano is a refreshingly authentic speaker.

Dr Emiliano Toso starts this webinar by playing a stunning piece of music on his Steinway coda piano specially tuned to 432 Hz. His music is the deepest part of himself which he shares with us from his soul and emotion - translating emotion into music. He then spoke about the journey that led him to combine his passion and talent: science and music. Emiliano's work combined his curiosity and passion for science and music, which he discusses -including deep sequencing of DNA.

This was the greatest gift he could give himself. When he shared his music he started receiving feedback from various health practitioners about the benefits of using his music with clients and patients. He soon began to receive invitations to international events to play his music, including to children in hospital! He was the first to be invited to play in a surgery room. He played a second song The Miracle of Life. Then he talked about the effect of music on cells. We had a fantastic dialogue, and Emiliano finished the webinar with another piece of music – his first composition which he said reflected himself.

Emiliano calls us each to combine our own passion and talent in our own way. I really hope Emiliano is invited back to talk to us about the scientific effects his music has on vegetable and botanical cells.
