WORLDS BEYOND – A Contemporary exploration of more-than-human minds and our place in the cosmos
A Five-Part Series with leading UAP experts curated and hosted by Àlex Gómez-Marín
WORLDS BEYOND is a conversation series bringing together leading experts in Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP). This interdisciplinary dialogue spans neuroscience, astronomy, the history of religions, entrepreneurial disruptive technologies, psychical research, anthropology, journalism, and politics.
By bridging these diverse fields, the series seeks to challenge our conventional understanding of perception, mind, and the nature of reality. Through in-depth discussions with top thinkers, WORLDS BEYOND offers a fresh perspective on the profound mysteries surrounding consciousness and non-human intelligence.
At its core, the series confronts some of humanity’s most fundamental questions: Who are we? Are we alone in the universe? Are other minds already present among us? By examining the intersection of scientific inquiry, historical wisdom, and emerging technological advancements, WORLDS BEYOND invites audiences to reconsider their assumptions about sentience and the cosmos.
Join the series to challenge, explore and expand your ways of thinking about our place in the universe.

About the Host
Àlex Gómez-Marín (Barcelona, 1981) is a Spanish scientist, with PhD in Theoretical Physics from the University of Barcelona (cum laude by unanimity and Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award in 2009). He currently holds the position of Associate Professor of Neuroscience at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).
He holds a bachelor’s degree in physics, a masters in biophysics, and since his PhD has been a postdoctoral research fellow at the Systems Biology Unit of the EMBL-CRG Center for Genomic Regulation and at the Neuroscience Programme of the Champalimaud Center for the Unknown in Lisbon. Since 2016, he has been the director of the Organism Behavior Laboratory at the Institute of Neuroscience in Alicante, (where he is currently an associate professor at CSIC. Since 2022, Alex is also the director of the Pari Center in Tuscany, Italy, a center for the exploration of the intersection of science, art, and the sacred.
Alex’s research encompasses the origins of the arrow of time (inert matter), neuroethological principles of action and perception across species from flies and worms to mice and humans (living matter), and robotic and artificial intelligence applied to human stupidity (so-called artificial life & mind).
Alex had a near-death experience in March of 2021. He then decided to devote his research efforts to the scientific study of human minds in the real world, concentrating on what he calls the edges of consciousness – a wild, weird, wonderful field where great enigma meets gross stigma. In 2023 he was awarded the first Linda G O’Bryant Noetic Sciences Research Prize. In 2024 Alex was selected as one of the world’s most inspiring people by OOOM 100. He has recently been nominated as one of ten revolutionary scientists by Feed Your Head.
Since 2005, Alex has published about one hundred research articles which have been cited over four thousand times in total. Alex has given countless talks and interviews too. You can find most of his material here: https://behavior-of-organisms.org/
Alex lives in sunny Alicante, Spain, with his wife, two daughters, and a cat.

Her focus is on teaching and learning about love and time, and she pursues this focus by speaking about love and time, leading projects, conducting research, coaching technology executives and engineers, and writing books and articles.
Julia’s PhD in communication sciences and disorders is from Northwestern University, her MA in neuroscience is from the University of California at San Francisco, and she received her BA with highest honours in neuroscience from Oberlin College. She also invented and patented Choice Compass, a physiologically based decision-making app. A peer reviewer for Brain Research, Psychological Bulletin, Perception, Cognition, PLoS One, Explore, and Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, Dr Mossbridge received funding from the National Institutes of Health in her role as post-doctoral member of the psychology department at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
She is the author of The Calling as well as the co-author of Transcendent Mind: Re-thinking the Science of Consciousness, and The Premonition Code.
Session Two – May 26 – Anna Brady-Estevez
Anna Brady-Estevez earned her PhD in chemical and environmental engineering at Yale University, where she was President of the student government representing the 13 graduate and professional schools. Anna earned a BS in chemical engineering and a BA in Spanish from The Johns Hopkins University. At Hopkins she was a captain, MVP, and university record holder for the varsity cross country and track teams. Anna enjoys using her knowledge of several languages for both community service and travel.
At the National Science Foundation, Anna directs the Small Business and Innovative Research (SBIR) national portfolio and investments in Chemical, Environmental, and Distributed Ledger (Blockchain, DAGs) innovations. The NSF’s investments are at the earliest stages and are comprised of non-dilutive grants, and also include mentoring and networking; the program deploys ~$200M annually.
Previously, Anna was Director of Corporate Strategy at Cummins Inc, a corporation of complementary business units that design, manufacture, distribute, and service diesel and natural gas engines and related technologies. Prior to Cummins she was a Consultant with the Boston Consulting Group and a venture partner at the international investment firm 4-Innovation. 4-Innovation’s purpose is to seek innovative technology in countries with high industrial scientific output: Israel, Singapore, and the USA.
Anna was Director of Strategy at AES Corporation, one of the world’s largest power companies, which owns and operates a portfolio of generation and distribution businesses, from coal to gas to renewables. Before AES, Anna was a Principal at Signal Lake, a venture capital firm focusing on technically innovative solutions to customer challenges in software, telecom, data storage, advanced materials, and energy.
Before her investing career, Anna was a National Science Foundation Fellow at Yale University. Her work focused on nanotechnology and advanced materials for cleantech applications. Through this research and peer-reviewed publications, Anna developed a carbon nanotube (CNT)-based hybrid filter for a low-cost, low-energy, filtration system which achieves high viral and bacterial pathogen removal from water. This CNT-hybrid filter may also serve as enabling technology for other separations processes spanning foods, fuels, chemicals and biomedicals.
