About Me

I am a retired general surgeon now living in Burgundy, France. I worked in Kenya and Fort William in the North West Highlands of Scotland. In 2005 I took early retirement from my consultant post to pursue my interest in spirituality and health. After having gained an MA in the Study of Religions in SOAS London, I was employed by an NGO the Scottish Inter Faith Council, 2006-2011. During this time I was seconded to support Healthcare Chaplaincy in their practice of Spiritual Care as they developed the evidence base for the link between spirituality and health. I worked with NHS staff throughout Scotland to improve their understanding of the significance of this link with healthcare outcomes.

I would like to continue developing my interest in both spirituality and health and current research in consciousness studies.
